About Special Children's Charities

Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the proud fundraising arm of Special Olympics in Chicago. Our mission is to promote, foster and encourage physical and mental health through athletics, recreational and social activities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities or closely related developmental disabilities. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults in a variety of Olympic-type sports. This program gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. It is professionally and personally rewarding to watch the children and adult athletes grow in physical strength, athletic skills, and most especially to witness their sense of self value as integral part of our community.
We welcome the opportunity to present you with more information on how your organization can underwrite an event or offering and greatly impact the lives of our very special athletes.
